Well I can honestly say that good intentions do not get any work done. Seeing as how I have neglected to write for three days in a row, I figured it would be fitting to write a bit of a longer message today so we can catch up on what’s been going on, but more importantly, because I have some awesome stories to tell.
This past weekend I had the privilege of embarking on an adventure to go to our schools freshman retreat. There were many saints who had been praying for God to move and change lives at the retreat, and did He ever. I had been praying that God would speak through me to the hearts of everyone there, and after some people talked to me, I found out that there were times when, as one guy put it, “it was like you stepped back and it wasn’t you speaking anymore, and that’s a good thing”. When I hear that I know God spoke through me, and that means someone received something.
On Saturday night, we opened up chapel for ministry for those who wanted prayer for anything, even healing. A young man came up for prayer for his knee, as he had injured it playing sports. He could not put much weight on it, let along walk properly. A bunch of us laid hands on his knee and prayed for God to heal it. After the first time praying he was able to take his bandage off and move it around a little more than he could before, the swelling had gone down considerably. A few of us got a word from God that there was total healing for his knee that was going to happen. So we kept praying and praying, after 15 minutes he could walk around the room and had gained a larger range of motion. His leg did not get totally 100% healed that evening, but what would have taken one to two weeks happened in 1 to 2 minutes. That’s the God we serve.
The next day he asked for prayer again because he wanted his knee totally healed. So we prayed, and others who were curious of Gods healing power joined in and prayed with us. We spent a good 45 minutes praying and no physical changes happened, but it was after when we were thanking God for what He had already done in the young man’s leg, all of a sudden he could instantly extend and contract his leg more significantly then he could a moment ago. Praise God for that!
Although his leg is still not totally healed, I would venture to guess it is at least 70% if not more healed then before. God is good and I can’t wait to see more of His healing work among the students at Providence and all over.
God Bless
-Andrew-
