A Reminder

The other day I was flipping through my bible book, or testimonial book, I’m not quite sure what I call it as I haven’t given it a name before; we will just call it my note book. Anyways I was flipping through my notebook when I read a prophetic word that God gave through a couple I met for Providence, specifically for the people and what God is going to do this year. After reading it I felt refocused in the vision and desire God has for the people that have come to this school; and believe me it’s going to be awesome.

I pray you all get super blessed by the One who loved us first.

Dear Jesus

God I want to be fully healed, all of me, God heal the whole man. God I desire to be a man after your heart, to become a man the way you intended. God bring your presents to this school, God bring your Holy Spirit and draw us closer into relationship with you that we may see you and all that you have for us and for this school. In turn that we leave this school equipped to walk with you into the fullness of what you are bringing us to do. God bring joy to everyone, and I mean everyone here, fill us with your love and rest, God bring your revival and your power. Talk to you soon.

All I Can Say is Sham-WOW

This entry will be a little different then my normal entries about pursuing God and revival. This entry will be about the controversial and addictive topic of Sham Wow’s. This new invention, which is likely the work of devil worshiping voodoo witches, is essentially a towel that once provoked by conditioning, can absorb copious amounts of liquid even when wet. Brilliant, but somehow maniacal as this object seems to be controlled by the untrusting sales tactics of the wizard named Vince who by the quickness of hand and the cunning of words, convinces thousands of people to throw their hard earned money at a towel that could, in turn, potentially absorb peoples house, boat, car, kids or even their own souls. One should be careful before they go and through away their money all willy-nilly at the newest hot product.

For those of you who read these posts religiously, this is not the way things are going to be from now on its just that I have noticed all of these posts have been very serious, and decided to though some absurd and farfetched humour into the mix.

Our Church

Where do I start? Our church has seen a huge shift in life. What I mean by that is only a couple of months ago, we were a very lifeless church in the sense that the spirit of God was rare to find on a Sunday morning, but religious atmosphere was evident. Now its as if someone turned the lights on and we are free to worship God and move in obedience to the word. Since this change that happened in august, we have been moving into areas of Gods will to heal the sick and the broken. It’s a learning process, but so amazing to see the people that have stuck with us for this change that God has brought to our body of believers.

Somethings Happening

Did anyone else notice and take advantage of the beautiful weather this past weekend. I sure did and it gave me opportunity to go for a nice long walk with Jesus. It’s been a long time since I have been able to go for walks with God. This time was different then all the other times I have gone on walks. Jesus showed me His love for me in an undeniable way and how He doesn’t make people He doesn’t love. The reason I speak about Gods love and intimacy with Him all of the time is not because I fully understand it, but because I want it so badly, and God hears our cry’s. If I could say anything to you about this it is this; don’t stop asking, and pressing in. He hears you and He’s there.

Things I Want

I have a list. I believe everyone has one in their heads, a list that they keep of things they wish to accomplish and goals they wish to reach. As life continues I found that my list is always changing, either things are getting added to it, or taken away from it, however lately I found things are only being added to it rather then taken off of it.

When I was younger my list consisted of things such as what I wanted to be when I grew up, who I wanted to get married to, what kind of car I wanted, the house, car and boat etc. Now that list looks much different, because I changed, or rather God changed me. When He changes your heart to from the desires of the flesh to the things of his kingdom, you don’t lack anything; the scriptures mean what they say. Jesus takes away the things of the sinful nature and replaces them with Him and things of His kingdom, however sometimes the problem becomes when we don’t take in the things of His kingdom but stay empty… well I’ll let you read Luke 11:24

[24] "When an evil spirit comes out of a man, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. Then it says, 'I will return to the house I left.' [25] When it arrives, it finds the house swept clean and put in order. [26] Then it goes and takes seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that man is worse than the first."

All this to say that we need to know Him, and be known by Him, we need intimacy with Christ not out of obligation for good things to happen to us, but out of a desire to know the God we talk about all the time. This is what I want.

MY LIST:

1. To grow in greater intimacy with Christ so that I can speak with Him face to face, and just hear Him speak for hours and hours.

2. To be effective in the kingdom, obeying His commands such as healing the sick, casting out demons, and speaking life.

3. To speak life all the time, and to walk in the glory of the Lord, not just one the outside, but on the inside

4. That where ever I go the environment changes to an open heaven

5. To love ALL people unconditionally

6. To get married and support a household

7. To not miss the plans and purposes that Christ has for my life.

8. To walk on water, and walk through walls, to get transported, and to visit heaven.

As you can see, some of the things haven’t changed, but others are being built onto this list even from recent times in my life. All in all I want to know Christ and to see His kingdom come and His will be done, however it looks

Thinking Things Through

I find that I am living in an environment that doesn’t seem to promote the life of Christ. It supports it and allows it, but it does not promote it. As brothers and sisters in Christ, we cannot hold to excuses why this is the way it is, we need to just simply stay close to Him and help others who are in need of help. It’s something that I have been working on and continually need to work on, but God is calling His people to be close to Him and to know Him. I talked to a friend of mine about this and he didn’t turn me down, but he had a hard time hearing it, so I think. Perhaps he did hear me its just hard for him to understand what I’m trying to understand.

God I pray that I understand what you are doing here, and what you want to do here, that I hear you clearly and that you would change this environment to an open heaven environment, whatever the cost.

The Biblical Standard

I have spent my whole life in the church, and only now understanding what a relationship with God really looks like. I have said it before and I’ll say it again because it is so important, we cannot expect to grow up in the church and assume we know God. Yes it can be beneficial to grow up in an environment of God, but we need to take it seriously, our relationship with God.

One thing I have noticed is that when human beings do not understand something, they will do one of two things. They will either go after it until they find the answer, or they will make up an answer that fits with their realm of thinking. These are not scientific facts just observations, but I believe they hold some truth. When you realise that you think know everything, is when you need to get back into the word.

I was tired of getting temporary sufficient answers to questions about God and his nature that I had. I didn’t want the person to answer the question; I wanted to know the truth, but evidently we are taught in Sunday school how to answer questions but not a relationship with Jesus (for the most part).

At a summer camp I hear the speaker say this line,

“We need to raise our experience to the level of the word of God, rather than bring the word of God down to the level of our experience.”

Our lives need to be a biblical standard, not a standard that revolves around what goes on around us, whether its teaching that limits God, or the world falling apart around us. We need to hold true to what the bible says and believe it in faith, as well as keeping close to God and intimate with Him. In fact that’s probably the most important thing is to stay close to God.

Intimacy

For the past several days I have needed to do some God searching. Nearly at the end of my rope with a demonic issue, I was fed up of ending up in the same place in sin. I had tried everything, and I mean everything to get out of where I was. The weird thing about going in circles trying to find a secure solution to where I was to please God, but the funny thing is when you’re going in circles you will find that you are circling the very thing you’re looking for.

The answer that I was trying to find was God himself

“Come to me” He said,

“Just spend time with me”.

God is the answer, we hear that all the time but few find it true for themselves because of all kinds of excuses and false cliché’s.

We often see God as a problem solver, and the one stop shop for getting rid of the trouble we are in. We look at Him as a problem solver rather than a life giver; yes God does deal with problems in our lives, but when we don’t allow His life to fill the gaps of the things delt with, we will end up taking those problems back on ourselves.

God desires intimacy with everyone, not just a church hello.

Pray and think about it.

God Bless

Food

Unlike most posts on this blog, I should remind the readers that this technically is a blog for school, where I write daily about whatever I wish to speak about. Unlike normally I will not be speaking about revival, and the love of God, this time I will be speaking about an assignment I was given in class which involves speaking about the events of a situation, as well as my interactions with such events over the period of 45 minutes. These are the events of that period as well as my interactions.

First I decided that because of my lack of breakfast earlier this morning, I would try to ingest some nurturance for nourishment. Wondering what kind of place on campus would offer such satisfaction, I turned my attention to the most logical choice, the cafeteria. In the cafeteria I found few people to be present, there was the staff who was serving the food, but even they were in scarce numbers. Being a man and working on my college degree I found the intelligence to put together a bagel, some tater tots with bacon, and a bowl of fruit. I completed my meal with spreadable cream cheese that complemented my bagel, as well as a glass of water to help it all go down smooth. As I brought my tray of edible goodness to the cutlery bar, I decided to grab some ketchup for my tots however after I received my ketchup I decided that I was going to be different and use chopsticks that were made available to me at the cutlery bar to use for eating my delicious breakfast. I brought my tray to a table which was made for seating 8 people, 5 of these people were present and occupying chairs, I sat down in their company, thanked Jesus for the food that had been provided for me, and dug in.

I started with the tater tots because it seems that deep fried food draws attention, even at 9:30 in the morning. Using my skill of hand at chopsticks, I successfully grabbed the tot, and dipped it into the ketchup I had on my tray. I continued to eat the tots on my plate while occasionally grabbing a piece of bacon and, with some difficulty, using chopsticks to eat it. After fighting with bacon for a shot while, I turned my attention over to the much healthier side of my meal, the bowl of fruit. In this bowl was an assortment of two kinds of fruit, there was the delicious watermelon, and the juicy fresh cut strawberries. Being a fan of both these fruits I decided to take a stab at my favourite of the two, the strawberries. It was a taste sensation which could have been enhanced if I didn’t have the mixed taste of bacon and tater tots in my mouth already. None the less they tasted amazing, and the meal satisfied for the breaking of the nightly fast. All in all it was a good meal. I took my tray to the kitchen, cleaned it up, and left the cafeteria, a slightly heavier man (due to the weight of the food).

Distractions

After talking to a friend about distractions I decided to write about distractions, (funny how that works). Ever since God got a hold of me, I’ve been taken gladly though a process of cleaning out what is not God out of my life. On the surface levels that include, specific music, movies, video games etc. a lot of people, myself included, have a hard time hearing God these days and a lot do not know why. Part of the reason is that most are not sure what his voice sounds like, and do not have a history and practice of listening to Him. It says in His word, “my sheep hear my voice”, plain and simply if we are His we will hear him. It is hard to hear Him however, when our ears are being plugged with the world, and our eyes stolen away by pleasing eye candy. I would encourage you to pray that God would open your ears to hear Him and your eyes to see Him that all distractions that take you away from Him would fade away.

God Bless

Then and Now

For about two years now I have been hearing more and more about the power of God; more specifically I have been hearing about the power of God moving today. Last year in April of 2008, there was an outpouring of the Holy Spirit in Lakeland Florida. Many people were miraculously healed, delivered, and saved. There were stories of people who had glass eyes that, after being touched by God, could see out of the glass eye. Others had similar stories, except the glass eye was turned into a real new eye. Many people lost weight instantly; a lot were filled with the Holy Spirit, as well as a boldness to go out on the street and share the true gospel of Jesus Christ. On the streets people would be healed miraculously and saved, just like in the book of Acts, it was coined, “the Lakeland Outpouring.”

You might be wondering why this entry is called ‘Then and Now’. Way back in the early 1900’s, 1906 to be exact; a revival happened in the United States of America called the Azusa Street Revival. The video explains a lot of what happened there, anything from arms growing out in only a few seconds, to the Shekinah Glory of God manifesting in the meetings in the form of smoke and fire. In essence this was like the bible brought to our time. The reason I am telling you this is because of the prophecy that William H. Seymour gave coined, “the 100 year prophecy”. Judging from the title, it was a prophecy about a coming revival in about 100 years that was going to be even greater than the Azusa Street revival. Here’s the kicker, the revival went from 1906 to about 1910, the 100 year prophecy was given in 1909… just saying.

So what does this have to do with the Lakeland Outpouring? Well it is pretty much 100 years if not exactly and all around the world churches are crying out to God for Him to come and pour out His Spirit on the earth, so far many churches are being awakened and have started to take the Word of God seriously by doing what He says and getting close and intimate with God. If you are unsure just look up Bethel Church in Redding Ca. or Morning Star Ministries with Rick Joyner, or even the Lakeland Outpouring.

Now is the time to get close to God, to know Him and know his ways, so that when manifestations of God are common, you know how to discern between God and the enemy. He desires a relationship with you, going to church is not a relationship. If your walk with god is based on religious points you have been earning by going to church functions and doing good for your salvation, I would remind you that salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, not by works. Works are evidence of our love for Him and His love in us; they are not a means to get to heaven. Jesus loves us so much, if you are saved but have stayed away and no longer follow God and do what His word says, repent and do as you once did as it says in 1 John.

He Loves You

God Bless
